Summer Terms 1 and 2 ‘Hidden Woods’

In Cherry Class this term, our topic is called ‘Hidden Woods’ where we will be focusing on Science and Geography. We will be learning about different plant types, what they need to grow and how we can help them. We will be using our scientific enquiry skills to observe what is changing over time. We will also be creating maps and noticing physical and human features of our local environment. In Maths, we are focusing on our place value, addition and subtraction and multiplication and division. In English, we will be continuing our Curious Quests which we will start with rescuing the faithful friends from the grumpy bear! We will be focusing on writing in the past and present tenses, using suffixes correctly and forming our numbers and punctuation marks correctly. In Phonics we will be revising our taught sounds so that we can consolidate them and be as confident as we can when reading and writing. In Art and Design, we will be looking at printing. We will use Orla Keily and William Morris as our inspirations.
